Sears Associates Save Christmas

On December 13, the Louisville Sears store in Oxmoor Center held a shopping spree from 8 to 11 a.m. before business hours.  One hundred fifty associates from the store and Credit center rescued Christmas for 1,400 low-income children after a local competitor decided not to sponsor the Clothe-A-Child program.  After that decision was made, Nancy Leech, general manager for the Sears store, jumped right in and agreed to sponsor the annual event.

The Clothe-A-Child program is well known in Louisville, Ky, as an annual shopping event.  Children ages 5 to 18 are invited to a department store to select new clothes, shows and coats.  Sears associates helped out on the cash registers and made this a Christmas these young shoppers will never forget.
